Interceptor and Apogee, the legal name of 3D Realms, are currently embroiled in a lawsuit with Gearbox Software, which is charging the two companies with 'unauthorized use' of the Duke Nukem. Last Friday, Gearbox Software filed a suit against Apogee Software, the owners of Duke Nukem 3D developers 3D Realms. Suffice to say, Embracer Group has a whole lot of people’s favorite IPs tucked within its oversized trench coat. Law always changes, and its honestly a bit of a nightmare. It even added a couple more studios last August, such as 4A Games. The holding group is the parent company behind such companies as THQ Nordic, Koch Media, Gearbox Interactive, Saber Interactive, and Coffee Stain Studios. In August 2021, the company was acquired by Embracer Group subsidiary Saber Interactive. According to the studios were bought for a total of $313 million USD with an additional consideration of $232 million to be paid depending on the studios meeting agreed upon milestones.Embracer Group is already a massive deal in the gaming world.
